Sponsored by the Bird the Preserves program through the Forest Preserves of Cook County, this free morning bird walk begins at 7:30 am. Bring your binoculars and a camera to capture the dawn chorus in a natural setting.
If you have young kids ready to attend preschool soon, now’s your chance to check out area community programs available at the 50th Spring Preschool Preview & Open house set for April 21st. Check the event posting in the Palatine Park District to find the schools you want to learn more about such as Maple Park or Parkside.
There’s nothing like a Sunday afternoon of music. Coming up April 22nd the Palatine Parks District is holding its next live musical matinee at the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center. Bring the whole family for the swinging tunes of Bopology and all-you-can eat dinner afterwards.
When it comes to family fun, it’s a wonderful thing to be able to include our furry friends. On April 28th Rolling Meadows is holding its very own doggie fest with Dog Dayz at the Rolling Meadows Senior Center parking lot. Bring Fido and learn about dog-friendly community businesses, while your best friend enjoys a dip in the kiddie pool or run around the temporary dog park just for this occasion. Don’t have a dog? Come anyway, you may just find your next companion, local shelters will have adoptable dogs on hand.
