Get the month started with a Community Bike Ride on Saturday, August 4th. Rolling Meadows has miles of bike paths, perfect for a scenic and safer bike ride. Join other residents for a leisurely ride around Rolling Meadows and through many community parks. Begin at the Community Center on Pheasant Dr., enjoy some ice cream and check out the Wonder Wheels BMX Stunt Team and the incredible things they can do on two wheels.
It’s time again for a community favorite, National Night Out is on Tuesday, August 7th this year. This is a chance for communities to gather and meet- neighbor to neighbor, business to resident, organization to people, in an effort to build connections which can help prevent crime. The better you know your neighbor, the more likely you are to look out for one another. There’ll be plenty of activities for the kids, safety and K-9 demonstrations, live music and more with this Rolling Meadows Police sponsored event, you won’t want to miss it!
Another Rolling Meadows summer favorite is coming up Friday, August 17th. Wine-Down by the Creek is an excellent evening of live music, food truck fare, local wines and brews at Kimball Hill Park. Bring a blanket and have a relaxing picnic with friends and family.
We’ve mentioned this before, and it’s worth mentioning again, the next City Market will be held on Saturday, August 25th at the Community Church of Rolling Meadows. Find artisan crafts and unique art, jewelry, clothing and more at this lively, outdoor market. There’s also a farmers’ market where you can find the freshest in local fruits and veggies. Support local farms, businesses and artists, support your local community. If you haven’t gone yet, this is your 2nd to last chance for the seasonal City Market, which ends in September.
