Another favorite part of Hometown Fest is Family Day at the carnival, where families get to enjoy an afternoon of free activities. On the 4th of July, there is another big parade and firework show in Rolling Meadows. The entire community comes together to show their patriotic side with the 4th of July Parade. There are fun contests for those decorating not only their bikes for the parade, but strollers and scooters as well, a great way for folks of all ages to participate. Even pooches can in on the fun with the dog costume contest which is also part of the parade. At dusk, the community gathers around the Rolling Meadows Community Center for front and center seats to watch a spectacular firework show.
