Enjoy Local Food & Support Our Cook County Economy in March

1Food is something which everyone enjoys; it’s a great way to bring people of diverse cultures together. Sharing food and traditions creates new friendships through a mutual passion or the desire to learn more about a culture. Cook County prides itself in community events, we come together to establish meaningful relationships, raise money for those in need, and have fun. Listed below are some area events happening in March, where you can support the local economy and community programs, including the festive Irish tradition of Saint Patrick’s Day.

Palatine’s Winter Farmers’ Market is a great place to shop with Cook County farms and bakers all in one place. Supporting local farmers gives you access to the freshest foods, and supports your local economy. You’ll enjoy a variety of vendors from 8am to 12pm every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month through April.

2The Rolling Meadows Park District Community Center will be hosting Taste the Town, on March 3rd from 6pm to 9pm. This is an excellent way to experience food from many of Rolling Meadow’s restaurants. You’ll also enjoy live music by David Paige, a 50/50 raffle split and a cash bar (if you're 21 years of age or older) with wine, craft and domestic beer. There’s no registration, and all ages are welcome. Stop in with friends and family, the entrance fee of $15 per person will be collected at the door.

3Celebrate the Luck of the Irish with the Rotary Club in Rolling Meadows, during a traditional Irish dinner and auction. The Rotary Club will be hosting the event March 10th from 6pm to 11pm, tickets are $30. Drape yourself in green and come to enjoy a corned beef and cabbage meal while watching the Dillon Gavin Dancers and a silent auction. You’ll also be able to meet your neighbors and business peers, as well as raise money for the local community. Funds raised will go towards scholarships for high school students, leadership youth camps, grants to community organizations and the upkeep of the Rotary grounds and building.

Palatine Township is hosting a St Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17th from 9am to 3pm. Put on your favorite green attire for a day of celebration with our community. You’ll enjoy seeing local businesses and organizations come together to celebrate this Irish tradition. The Irish market is hosting a scavenger hunt which will be held in downtown Palatine.
