Enjoy the Summer in Cook County


 1We are already reaching the halfway point of the year and summer is just about here. Now that the end of the school year is also on the horizon, June is a great time for the whole family to get out and enjoy community events around Cook County. June 7th marks the date for golf lovers to enjoy a day on the course while helping benefit children and adults with disabilities. The SLSF Palatine Hills Golf Classic is a community favorite around Cook County- for the fun of the game, quality time spent with friends and the benefits of helping others.

Celebrate the start of summer on June 8th with the Rolling Meadows Block Party, a family-friendly event with something for everyone. Live music, food trucks, law enforcement vehicles on display and a car show will keep the fun going throughout the evening.

Do you have electronics you need to recycle but aren’t sure where to take them or what can be turned in? Head over to the Palatine Lions Club on June 16th where volunteers and Palatine Township will be happy to take your load of computers, cords & cables, digital paying devices, TVs and batteries. The entire list of what can be turned in is located at the Palatine Township website.

Get your taste of Greek food and culture on June 22nd- 24th during the annual Palatine Greek Fest. This free community events is put on by the St. Nectarios Church Social Networking Ministry, and is your chance to celebrate all things Greek. Along with Greek food there will be music, dancing, kids’ activities all weekend long.

This month’s Rolling Meadows City Market will be held on June 23rd. Head to downtown Rolling Meadows for a day o shopping local foods and arts and crafts. Live music keeps the mood festive, and local food trucks will be on hand for when you want a snack. A great afternoon out while supporting our local economy.
