The Palatine Community Comes Together This Weekend

These are not just a fun run and great street festival, they are events I am proud to be a part of, as an opportunity to do something to help out others in need, and give back to the community at large. The The 10th Annual Palatine Oktoberfest runs from September 15th- 17th, with the Bridge Color Run being held on Saturday, September 16th.

It will be easy to enjoy both of these community events, as the Color Run ends where the Oktoberfest will be taking place. The Rotary Club of Palatine and Bridge Youth & Family Services have partnered together to make this weekend something truly special in Palatine. Whether you are new to the area, or a long-time resident, this weekend’s events are a great opportunity to meet some neighbors, and get to know the spirit of Palatine.

With organizations such as the Palatine Rotary Club and Bridge Youth & Family Services, residents have access to resources and programs designed to help those in need or facing unexpected challenges, to rise above and live life better, something everyone wants and deserves. Through community support during these incredible events, we can all help spread a message of hope and help to those who need it, and make a difference. This is what community is all about--connecting, supporting and thriving.

With the funds raised by the Color Run, their counseling services and youth programs will be able to continue helping at-risk kids and families in the Palatine area. Kids of all ages are encouraged to join in the run; together we can make a difference, no matter your age.

Donations and proceeds from Oktoberfest will help the Rotary Club of Palatine provide funding support to a variety of local, non-profit charities and community programs. This is their big event of the year to raise funds towards helping the community; and all of the community is welcome to attend the fun and excitement of this German extravaganza. Enjoy music, food, kids’ activities and of course plenty of German beer.

As an active member with both these organizations, I am excited to be able to participate in both of these community events; maybe we will see one another there--feel free to stop by and say “hi” if you see me!
